3 Natural Green Tea Skincare Recipes

Green tea has an impressive range of skincare benefits, and you don’t need to be a medical professional to find these out for yourself. With a muddle of skin-promoting properties, green tea can make your skin look fresh and feel revived in no time at all.

Our team at Bondi Beach Tea Co have promised to deliver you some inspiring articles on the subject, and our savvy skin beautifiers have delivered yet again.

3 green tea recipes for beautiful skin

    1. Matcha Green Tea Face Mask

As sourced on The Best Organic Skincare, this matcha green tea mask is full of antioxidants, natural antibiotics, vitamins, and detoxifying agents.

    Ingredients:

    ¼ teaspoon matcha powder

1 tablespoon aloe vera, fresh or bottled (helps the nutrients penetrate deep into the skin)

    Method:

Combine ingredients then combine directly to a clean, dried, face with fingertips avoiding the eye area. Leave for 5-10 minutes then rinse. Apply a natural moisturiser straight after.

    1. Anti-Aging Green Tea and Yoghurt Mask

The polyphenols in green tea help to neutralise free radicals that cause skin damage and accelerate premature signs of aging. This mask might be beneficial to tighten your skin and reduce the appearance of age spots, fine lines and wrinkles.

    Ingredients:

3 tablespoons of Greek yoghurt/natural yoghurt

1 tablespoon of green tea leaves or ¼ teaspoon of matcha green tea powder

    ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder

    Method:

Combine all ingredients, then apply directly to your face and neck. Allow it to rest for 20 minutes before rinsing off. Use this recipe weekly or twice weekly for an anti-aging boost to your complexion.

    1. Green Tea Skin Toner

This natural skin toner can help to reduce the appearance of large pores, draw out impurities, help to hydrate your skin and give your skin a natural glow.

Simply brew up two cups of green tea and add your favourite natural essential oil to the mix. If you are looking for some inspiration, rosehip oil is often associated with skincare and could be a could good oil to use. Place the mixture into a spray bottle and once cooled, you can spray it directly to your face. It is best used morning and night after your cleansing routine.

Green tea is much more tangible than just a tasty herbal drink to enjoy during the day. It offers a plethora of health-promoting benefits and is excellent for your skin. Check out our full range of healthy herbal teas online here, including our Bondi Beach Tea Co.’s Fresh Face Complexion Tea.
